As we all know by now, Donald Trump won the 2024 US Presidential Election, winning the electoral college and the popular vote, defeating Democratic nominee Kamala Harris.
Of course, since the Associated Press called the race, musicians across all genres have expressed their thoughts since the news broke. Artists including Travis Tritt, John Rich, Jason Aldean, and Brian Kelley – vocal supporters of the Trump campaign – have shared their excitement, while Maren Morris has expressed disappointment at his win.
Jason Isbell, The Chicks, and Mickey Guyton, all of whom have expressed support for the Democratic Party (all three performed for Harris, including at the Democratic National Convention or her rallies), haven’t yet posted about the news.
Reacting to the news, Maren Morris shared a post on her Instagram Stories that read, “INHALE—I’m not foolish for hoping. EXHALE—I won’t rush from this grief.”

Taking to Instagram, Brian Kelley shared a happy post soundtracked by the Rocky theme. Wearing an oversized red cap with the words “KEEP AMERICA GREAT,” Kelley captioned the post: “We are so back baby!!! Now we keep it GREAT!!!!!”
Kelley recently released his new album, Ed & Mary Margaret’s Son. Earlier this year, he released the pro-Trump song, Make America Great Again, which received endorsement from the man himself.
John Rich wrote alongside a photo of him and Donald Trump, “Who has one thumb up, defeated the pedos, crushed the cabal, cheated death and is about to save America? THIS GUY!!”
Following the election result, Jason Aldean shared a photo of a glass of whiskey and captioned the post, “Y’all wanna celebrate with a whiskey drink? Let’s have one this Friday at 4pm CT.”
On election day, he posted photos of himself with Trump and wrote, “Big day for our country today. Over the past several years we have taken a lot of heat from the entertainment industry and the media for our support of @realdonaldtrump.
“As a father and an American citizen, I want to see our country get back to its values and principles that made us great to begin with. Vote so our kids can have a safe and secure future. I proudly voted for Trump and encourage everyone to get out today and VOTE!!”
Sharing a photo of himself next to Donald Trump, Travis Tritt wrote, “I’m so happy and proud of President Trump for continuing to fight, fight, fight!!! God bless America!”
In a separate video, Tritt shared his reaction to the results as they rolled in and wrote, “What an amazing night for America!”
Not quite expressing as much happiness, Oliver Anthony dubbed the election result “what could be reflected back on as the most pivotal moment in world history.”
The Rich Men North Of Richmond singer added, “Regardless of what anyone thinks personally of Trump, think about this. When’s the last time you’ve seen republicans and democrats work together on the same team? RFK, Tusli and Elon have all proven they are leaders outside of politics.”
Craig Campbell, sharing some advice with his followers, wrote: “Some say last night was a long night. In the grand scheme of things, not really. For those that voted for Trump, congrats! For those that didn’t, try to open your hearts to the idea of giving him a chance. You will be miserable for the next 4 years if you can’t at least try to be at peace with it.”
