Following his The Band Album launch shows, Travis Collins will tour across Australia again from May to September on his Boots, Beer & Barstools tour.
Collins announced the tour on social media on Friday (14 March) and revealed that the upcoming shows will include some surprises.
“This will be different to anything I've done before,” he teased. “It's acoustic, it’s electric, it’s free-wheeling, it's intimate and rowdy, and anything goes.. I can’t wait to play these shows!!”
Collins added that if you tag your mates in the comments on Facebook or Instagram, you can enter the running to win a double pass pre-show meet & greet to one of his shows.
An East Coast tour where he’ll perform in cities and towns in New South Wales, Victoria, and Queensland, the tour will see Collins play in Cronulla, Camden, Brisbane, Ipswich, Wagga Wagga, Robertson, Milton, Muswellbrook, Tamworth, Morwell, Mt Evelyn, Geelong, Bendigo, Wauchope, Woy Woy, Avalon, Dapto, and Bathurst.
More dates are set to be announced, with the tour poster featuring blacked-out dates—perhaps allowing for festival appearances? You can see the tour poster below. Tickets are available via Travis Collins’ website.
Collins will release his tenth album, The Band Album, in two weeks (Friday, 28 March).
Of the inspirations behind The Band Album, Collins explained that curiosity got the best of him when he realised he’d never actually created an album with the people he worked with the most: his touring band.
“When I started thinking about recording this new album, I was searching for a fresh and different approach to anything I’d done before,” he said. “It seemed ironic and crazy to me that I’d never actually recorded or ‘created’ music with the people who’ve played the most music with me for most of my career - my touring band. That realisation floored me; curiosity immediately turned to creative excitement. ‘The Band Album’ was born.”
He added, “In many ways, it felt like I was recording my first album. There was an entirely new energy, creativity, and enthusiasm that really shines through on this album. I hold the songs, the memories of creating them, and the entire experience very close to my heart. I can’t wait for people to hear it.”
