Riley Green could soon appear on our screens, with the singer-songwriter recently admitting that he’d be interested in looking at acting.

In a new interview with 95.5 WTVY, Green revealed that he’s read some scripts and touched on how Lainey Wilson’s appearances as Abby on Yellowstone changed her career.

“We’ve actually kinda gone down that road [of reading scripts] a little bit,” he said. “I’ve read for a couple of shows here lately. Not that I have a lot of time for it, but I think it is something that I would enjoy, and also something I think could help my music career.”

Discussing the intertwined success of television series such as Yellowstone and country music, Green added: “Doing Yellowstone was a great launching pad for Lainey… and the country and western thing is becoming so popular through those shows that it’s really just such a great tie-in. I’m just glad that it’s helping out country music.”

Green, talking about the potential of an acting career, comes after the singer released his steamy Worst Way music video, where he portrayed a dominant character and got his fans talking.

Green and Wilson aren’t the only ones who have expressed interest in acting.

Jelly Roll announced his acting debut in February. This month, he made his acting debut as a fictional character in the popular CBS series, Fire Country, as a hospital orderly named Noah.

In a promo featuring the singer, Jelly Roll told series creator Max Thieriot, “From the stage to the fire line, it’s time to see if I can keep up.”

He added, “Man, this is tougher than the Grammys.”

Jelly Roll isn’t the only country singer to feature on Fire Country. In 2023, Kane Brown made his acting debut on the series. He played Robin, a character who train-hopped and ended up coming to the aid of injured patients.
