On Saturday (28 October), Concert For Carolina—the live music Hurricane Helene benefit show—raised over $24 million to assist people affected by the hurricane.

The concert was held exactly a month after Hurricane Helene caused disruption in Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina, Virginia, and Tennessee.

The Charlotte Observer reports that the benefit show, which took place at the Bank Of America Stadium on Saturday and headlined by Luke Combs and Eric Church, raised $24,513,185. Over 82 thousand fans bought tickets to attend the special event.

As well as Combs and Church, the event locked in an incredible roster of musicians, including James Taylor, Keith Urban, Sheryl Crow, Bailey Zimmerman, Billy Strings, The Avett Brothers, Chase Rice, Scotty McCreery, and Parmalee.

And as per Luke Combs, David Tepper (owner of the Carolina Panthers) donated money from the venue, gate, beer, parking, and the night’s labour to the cause.

In addition to those donations, Combs revealed that all proceeds from the event, including sponsorships, will be split 50/50 between Combs and Church’s Chief Cares Foundation and administered to organisations of their choosing that will support the Carolina and Southeast regions.

Whiskey Riff reports that Combs’ portion will be distributed between Samaritan’s Purse, Manna Food Bank and Second Harvest Food Bank of Northwest NC, while Church’s Chief Cares will work with established charities and organisations that can directly aid those affected by Hurricane Helene.

During the show, the pair premiered the song Carolina for the first time – you can check out that performance below.
