When you think of the 4th of July, images of picnics, fireworks, and red, white and blue are usually conjured up.

This year, the US celebrated a little differently, fawning over a new song about their cherished food item - cream cheese.

Land Of The Cream Cheese is the latest earworm to get stuck in unsuspecting victims’ heads over the last week. Famous cream cheese brand Philadelphia brought about the newest song to go viral to provide entertainment during their busiest sales time of the year, with cream cheese flying off the shelves over the Independence Day weekends.

“As an iconic brand that has been around for more than 150 years, Philadelphia shares our fans’ passion for proudly using our cream cheese to make anything and everything creamier,” Philadelphia senior brand manager Keenan White said about the song in a statement.

White continued, “We’re excited to recognise fans’ enthusiasm in a way that’s never been done before and let them know that we see and appreciate their cream cheese devotion.”

Rising country star Travis Yee was the man to bring the project to life, sharing the track with his 1M TikTok followers in partnership with Philadelphia. “We’ve been whippin’ up American Dreams. We stay hungry, if you know what I mean,” the country singer croons in a video.

Meanwhile, country three-piece Hinterland seemingly blew up on the app after a Spanish line-dancing teacher choreographed a dance to their song Stay In Your Lane. The Aussie band is now a line-dancing staple worldwide and has amassed large fanbases across Europe.

Across the pond in the US, Oliver Anthony gained prominence through a Radio Channel on YouTube for the track Rich Men North Of Richmond. The track transformed the Virginia singer into an instant sensation but further divided American politics through its messaging.

Luckily for Yee and Philadelphia, cream cheese is a unanimous favourite.
