Simply West have been swiftly moving up the ranks in the world of Aussie country music in recent months, but even with a huge amount of highlights and positive testimonials to their name, it appears the Best Is Yet To Come.

The group, who released their first single back in August, are described as a “harmony-guitar-driven band of brothers” formed by Ricky Nifo, Michael David, Enese Salu, and Joel Adams.

Adams, of course, has been known to the music-loving public for quite some time, having appeared on The X-Factor back in 2012, and hitting #55 on the Australian charts with his debut single Please Don’t Go back in 2015. Describing Simply West upon the group’s launch last year, Adams claimed they’re “sort of like Backstreet Boys but rough around the edges".

Taking the name Simply West to honour Nifo and the band’s roots in the Western Sydney suburb of My Druitt, the group’s immersive blending of country, rock, and soul has seen them adopt influences from names as varied as the Eagles, Sam Cooke, and Chris Stapleton.

It’s all paid off, too. In the wake of releasing debut single Fool That Don’t Belong in August, Simply West caught the attention of Tones And I who asked them to open her shows in Brisbane and Coffs Harbour.

Even veteran broadcaster Ray Hadley sung their praises back in December, bringing the group onto his show and playing their music – including new song Best Is Yet To Come – four times throughout his last week on air.

“This song is destined to become a hit,” Hadley said of their track. “I’ve had a lot of people in here over the last 24 years and no one has made a better debut than this.”

In December, Simply West issued their Best Is Yet To Come EP which collects their singles, along with tracks such as Already In Paradise and End Of The Road. Now, they’re heading north later this month to perform at the Tamworth Country Music Festival.

Appearing at Wests Diggers on January 25th, you’ll also be able to catch them joining Amber Lawrence for a special performance, along with busking performances across Peel Street.

Showcasing their Pacifica, African, and Portuguese heritage at every turn, the rising popularity and impressive musicality of Simply West proves they’re not just a flash in the pan, but rather, on the way to something special.
