Countrytown At CMA: All The Highlights

June 7, 2024 12:11 pm in by

In case you haven’t been looking at our socials lately, Countrytown is in Nashville! More specifically, at CMA Fest!

We’ve managed to see a lot, like the celebrity bars on Broadway, with highlights including Jason Aldean’s Kitchen & Rooftop Bar, Eric Church’s Chiefs, and Garth BrooksFriends In Low Places Bar & Honky Tonk.

At night, though, we’ve been all about the music, attending the showcase hosted by Sounds Australia entitled Australia Sounds Like and witnessing live debuts from Post Malone and Blake Shelton premiering their new song, which they recently teased on social media.

For the showcase, some of Australia’s brightest country talent have showed what the scene is made of, with Travis Collins, Zac & George, Andrew Swift, Lane Pittman, Taylor Moss, and this year’s Toyota Star Maker winner, Wade Forster, impressing Nashville audiences.

A Countrytown follower made the (accurate) assessment that Australia’s country music stars are “Every bit as good as the heavy hitters in Nashville”, and it’s difficult to argue with that statement.

In addition to the Aussies and Post Malone taking over, there was Shaboozey taking over the streets of Nashville, Ashley McBryde performing Redneck Woman with Gretchen Wilson, Lynyrd Skynyrd taking to the stage, surprise appearances from Jelly Roll and Morgan Wallen, and HARDY closing the festival with his songs PSYCHO and SIX FEET UNDER (CALEIGH’S SONG).

In a statement, CMA’s Chief Executive Officer Sarah Trahern said, “What an incredible four days and nights! This year’s CMA Fest has truly been a celebration of community and collaboration.

“From Country icons returning to the Fest stage to emerging acts reaching new audiences for the first time, seeing the fans and the industry embrace our genre in such a meaningful way has been the perfect way to kick off our next 50 years. We can’t wait for 2025!”
