Charlie Lane - Ginger
Melbourne-based artist Charlie Lane has swapped her typical indie-pop sound for country balladry, showcasing a new side of her artistry on Ginger.
Taken from her new album, I’m Okay Now But I Wasn’t, Ginger employs the piano, acoustic guitar, and pedal steel guitar as Lane muses on refusing to allow her disability to disrupt her dreams. She wrote the special song at just 16 years old, and with its release, she carries the emotional turmoil, tenderness, and longing she would have felt as a teen.
Lane said of the song, “Ginger is a tender one and comes from my lost little 16-year-old heart who liked to push people away a lot. I really hope people can connect with this track, whether they’re grieving, lonely or in love.”
Nathan Lamont - Name On It
In his latest upbeat country rock banger, Name On It, Nathan Lamont builds on his catalogue with a polished headbanger that takes listeners on a journey – specifically, a road trip.
Recorded between Nashville and Australia, Lamont – a Wagga Wagga-based First Nations artist – teamed up with Alex Mather to write the instant classic. He said of the track, “I wanted to highlight how love can completely upturn and transform a person’s outlook on life for the better, filling spaces we never knew were empty.
“Alex and I have spent a lot of time in the studio together recording and songwriting, and we have many shared values and experiences when it comes to life and love.”
Chloe Styler - Little Lady
With Little Lady, Chloe Styler takes the trait of being a “self-proclaimed chronic overthinker” and makes it her secret weapon.
The stunning acoustic-led track showcases Styler’s comforting vocal and relatable songwriting style. Recorded in Nashville with Luke Wooten (Brad Paisley, Dierks Bentley), Little Lady finds Styler at a whole other level.
Recognised as one of the most exciting up-and-coming talents in Australian country music, Styler was recently crowned the Breakout Artist of the Year at the Gold Coast Music Awards. It’s little wonder why she achieved that when listening to Little Lady.
